Item Details

Announcing a new land rover we call Excitrover that has 6 driven wheels and is sized right at 21" x 28", and with a 100 pound payload.  Perhaps the lowest cost and most affordable land rover vehicle for law enforcement and the Armed Forces.  It has new novel features that are necessary for a rover, yet is lacking in all the competition.  The Excitrover specifications:
  • 3 models:
    • Basic rover has 6 independent motor driven wheels
    • Medium rover has:
      • 6  independent motor driven wheels
      • two motors to lift the middle wheels, independently of each other, thus rover can tilt itself for obstacles
    • Top-scale rover has:
      • 6  independent motor driven wheels
      • two motors to lift the middle wheels, independently of each other, thus rover can tilt itself for obstacles
      • center tank tread for greater maneuverability over rocks, that would otherwise stop any rover
  • can run either right-side up or upside down
  • turns easily and minimizes wasted energy while turning, better than tank treads
  • comes to stairs or rocks, and "lifts"itself onto the stair, then climbs it
  • use less energy, thus go further than others with the same battery pack, over twice as far before charging
  • stepper motors give top precision for motion, unlike all others that use DC motors.  Excitrover can actually run and stop within a fraction of an inch or a millimeter
  • has 3D accelerometer so it can track it movement, just like a guided missile tracks itself
  • optional GPS for global positioning
  • wireless remote control
  • some degree of autonomic motion (operates by itself without a remote device, like the Mars rover), more later as product matures--great Senior college student project material
  • lightest weight rover available, allowing higher payloads
  • can crawl at snail's pace of a millimeter per day or race at over 15 mph
  • Shock and cushion for wheels, missing from competitors models
  • Semi-pneumatic tires, bullets will not make it go flat
  • glides evenly over large potholes due to 6 wheel design
  • priced lower than any known production rover made in USA
